Sweet Chow

Mom calls it "Puppy Chow". Another name is "Chex in Mud" and is a variation of one of the recipes on the boxes of Chex munchies. It's sweet, lots of peanutbutter gooyness, and a bit of chocolate or other flavors and a small treat for nibblers, not huge chunks of candy or cookies.

1 box (12-17 oz) of Chex (we used half corn and half rice)
1/2 c butter
1 c chocolate, white, or peanut butter chips
1 c smooth peanut butter
1/2 c or so powdered sugar

Lay out wax paper on a table. (We use two side by side sheets slightly overlapping
Melt butter, peanut butter, and chips slowly in a sauce pan. Pour cereal into a large bowl. Pour melted sauce (which should be quite thin) over the cereal and stir gently until cereal is thinly coated. Sprinkle powdered sugar over mixture and stir gently. Dump mixture onto wax paper and spread out to cool. Chill or freeze for later.
